My mate and I recently purchased a Plasma Cool Portable AC PC-14E for our two bedroom apartment in Manhattan. Believe it or not, the ac sits in the living room, but cools the entire apartment. The older models apparently registered a few issues about noise and water drainage, but PC-14E seems to have resolved them because so far I have found the ac to be totally low maintenance. The looks fit in well with our minimal and modern decor in the apartment.
