It doesn't keep racoons out of the trash, from 10 feet away...simple as that!

I charged the repeller unit in bright sun light for 2 days, on the third day I put it in my garden. I put some black walnuts about 3 to 4 feet in front of it. The squirrels came and took the walnuts, some time took the nuts and ran off, and other times the sat right in front of it and cracked the nuts. The ones that ran off came back for more.
